Inclusion Policy

It is my intention to make my service accessible to all families and children in the community. I aim to do this by:

Ensuring I advertise in places accessible to all sections of the community.

Being as flexible as possible to meet the needs of individual children and families, whilst taking into consideration the effect on the children already in my care

Arranging my waiting list on a first come first served basis, whilst complying with the requirements of my registration.

Welcoming all children into my home, regardless of their background.*

Before a child is admitted into my care the following must be in place:

A contract, agreed and signed by myself and the parent/carer which includes acknowledgement from parents/carers that they have read or will read and agree to my policies and procedures. Any queries with the policies should be raised immediately.

An agreed fee payment plan and payment of any necessary advance fees.

An initial meeting to meet the child and their parent/carer and discuss any specific needs

Emergency medical treatment consent must be obtained along with contact numbers.

On a day to day to basis;

I cannot accept children into the setting who have been suffering from sickness and/or diarrhoea or other infectious illnesses. Please see my illness policy.

I currently pick up from West Charleton Primary and nursery and will therefore be unlikely to be able to provide this service for other settings, but will try my best to accommodate any requests.

*I aim to be an inclusive setting. I value the individuality of all children and I am committed to giving all of the children in my care every opportunity to achieve. I do this by taking account of the child’s varied life experiences and needs. I offer a broad and balanced mix of activities and learning experiences, I value each and every child’s achievements, attitude and well being. My aim is to promote the individuality of all our children, irrespective of ethnicity, attainment, age, disability, gender or background.

While valuing the individually of each child the welfare and well-being of all children are always taken into consideration.
